Sri P A Murali grew up with natural devotion to the Sringeri Jagadgurus. A commerce graduate of AM Jain College, Chennai, he moved to Bengaluru in 1978 and became a Chartered accountant. With over three decades of professional experience in various corporate roles where he held executive positions including those of Executive Director & Chief Financial Officer, Sri PA Murali brings a unique blend of professional acumen and deep commitment to Sringeri Math.
After ending his professional career in 2015, Sri PA Murali has been actively involved in various dharmic activities of Sringeri Sharada Peetham, contributing both through personal service and philanthropy. He has also served the 37th Acharya, Jagadguru Sri Sri Vidhushekhara Bharati Sannidhanam during various Vijaya Yatras. Subsequently, Sri Murali gained additional insight and expertise by assuming some responsibilities of the Math.
In 2022, as part of the Divya Saptati Mahotsava conducted in commemoration with the 70th birth year celebrations of Jagadguru Sri Mahasannidhanam, Sri PA Murali was awarded the “Bharati Tirtha Puraskara” by Jagadguru Sri Sannidhanam.
During the Sharada Sharan Navaratri Mahotsava in 2023, he was honoured with the title “Guru Seva Nirata” by Sri Mahasannidhanam for his dedicated Guru Seva.
Presently, as per the order of the Jagadguru Sri Mahasannidhanam, Guru Seva Nirata Sri PA Murali has commenced serving as the Administrator & CEO of Sringeri Math with effect from January 25, 2024.

Dr. Deepa Chandran – The ‘principal’ pillar of this academic construct’ galloping proudly, sitting on the back of her accomplishments filliped by her eminence, Dr. Deepa Chandran, Senior Principal of the Sree Sarada Vidyalaya, the State Treasurer of Hindustan Scouts and Guides and the Treasurer of Kochi Metro Sahodaya; can write a novel on her achievements alone.
Crushing all the bagging and societal stigma, Dr. Deepa Chandran holds a M A (Master of Arts) degree in Economics and English, a B Ed (Bachelor of Education) from the SET before gaining her well-deserved doctorate (PhD). All her meritorious achievements have not found home yet and instead continue to dash forward.
In 2016, Dr Deepa Chandran won the President’s National award for the Best Teacher and the Shikshak Shri Award. Three years prior to it, she won the ShikshakRatna Award and the Best Teacher/Principal Award of CBSE, 2013. On the International Women’s Day, 2014, she set an example for women by winning the MahilaShakthi Shiromani Award at the Indo-Nepal Cultural Organisation, New Delhi. In the field of environment and social services, Dr. Deepa Chandran has been the proud recipient of the Governor of Kerala appreciation award for the Guinness World Record of ‘Hug a Tree’. For her commitment to Social Service Projects, she was bestowed, the Manorama News Daily Award. She is also the recipient of the Mathrubhumi News Daily appreciation award for the SEED (Student Employment Experience Development) program in the school.
Even as these awards speak for themselves, Dr. Deepa Chandran’s perfection in her field is derived from her vast and valuable experience that groomed her well to handle challenges thrown at her. She was the Chief Nodal Supervisor for the CBSE Evaluation camp for seven consecutive years (from 2010-11 to 2016-17). She is an appointee of the CBSE for ‘Affiliation to CBSE’ inspection, which she has conducted in about 20 schools from 2009, to elevate their status by granting them a CBSE affiliation.
Besides supervision and affiliation, she has voluntarily imparted training to teachers, on CCE (Continuous and Comprehensive Evaluation) methods and Personality Development Classes and Programmes in various neighbouring CBSE schools. In the process, she has conducted numerous Personality Development classes for students and teachers, mentored many CBSE programmes and coordinated examinations at the CBSE centres in Kollam, Kerala. She is an Observer of CBSE examinations like the AIEE, CTET, JEE and All India Medical and Engineering examinations.
Over the years, Dr Deepa Chandran has interacted and contributed productively to the world in various fields, through her students, developing their cognitive skills in the process. In the past, her students, through street theatres in public places, spread the message of the Swachh Bharat Mission. Currently, she started the school radio service at Sree Sarada Vidyalaya to entertain the students and enhanced their communication skills. In the field of literature, as a part of the State programme, she guided her students to publish a book, “ONV in the minds of the young”, paying homage to the Jnanpeet winner poet of Malayalam, O.N.V. Kurup on his first death anniversary and won the hearts of many and a media spotlight.
Known for her charity and welfare works, Dr. Deepa Chandran conducts ‘A handful of rice’ project and supplies orphanages with rice weekly. She also conducts the ‘One rupee coin in a week’ for orphanages and launched the ‘Prathyasa Project’, aimed to impart free education to children who lost the breadwinners of their family.
In connection to the Organ Donation Campaign as a part of the Government of Kerala, Dr. Deepa Chandran set the stage by signing up for organ donation and inspired all her students. In association with the Paliam India programme, through her students, she extends care and support to terminally ill patients. She had extended financial aid at the time of need, for a teacher of the school, owing to a kidney transplantation surgery by mobilizing funds from students and public.
In addition to the aforementioned environmental award, she launched the “Enikoppamrendumaram” (Two trees along with me) programme, inaugurated by Minister for Forest, Shri.K.Raju. It teaches students the importance of planting trees by making every one of them grow two trees.
Service and academics asunder, Dr. Deepa Chandran is also known for her publications. Her articles, “Problems of Pravasi Children”, published in the Gulf News Paper, “How to possess a good character”, ‘The Woman’, published in the DC Books Magazine, enunciates on the present quality of education and the role of teachers. Besides publishing articles, she has authored and published textbooks for LKG and UKG students. She has also published pamphlets for parents and students.
